Nano Banana 2.1 AI Image Generator
Google’s Nano Banana 2.1 is the newer line: 1K, 2K and 4K from a specific brief, and extreme frames — 1:4, 4:1, 1:8 and 8:1 — only when you stay at 1K. Start from text, or bring up to 14 references when you are editing. It is not Pro’s standard-ratio table, and it is not MockupLabs’s product-photo mockup desk.
01 — Capabilities
1K–4K, with 1:8 only at 1K
Nano Banana 2.1 keeps the family prompt box. What changes is the floor (no 0.5K) and where the strip frames are allowed.

01
1K, 2K and 4K — no 0.5K
A step up from Lite’s 1K-only pass, without Nano Banana 2’s 0.5K draft tier. One image per run, prompts up to 12,000 characters.

02
Extreme ratios only at 1K
1:4, 4:1, 1:8 and 8:1 are available when resolution is 1K. At 2K and 4K, stay on the standard set: 1:1 through 21:9, plus auto.

03
Edits with up to 14 references
Hold a face, a product and a style in the same request. Text-only stills start from the prompt alone.

04
Not Pro’s standard-only table, not a mockup pack
Need 4K on a 1:8 strip? That combination is not here. Need artwork on a product photo? That is MockupLabs, not this generator.
02 — Prompt to output
A prompt, then the still
Each still ships with the prompt that made it. Open one in Create and change it.
01 · PortraitPromptClose photographic portrait of a young man with curly hair wearing a grey knit sweater, soft window light, he glances aside and smiles warmly, shallow depth of field.
02 · ProductPromptA clean white leather sneaker on a pale grey seamless studio backdrop, soft diffused light, three-quarter view, crisp stitching, minimal commercial photograph.
03 · StreetPromptPhotographic view down a cobblestone lane in an old European village, climbing roses on stone walls, café tables in morning sun, a few people strolling in the distance.
04 · CharacterPromptPhotograph of a young woman with shoulder-length brown hair in an olive t-shirt, golden late-afternoon light, she turns her head and looks into the distance, breeze in her hair.
03 — Where it fits
Where a 1K strip or a 4K standard frame fits
Work that needs 2.1’s mix: high-res on common ratios, or a 1:8 banner only when 1K is enough.

Campaign stills at 2K or 4K
Hero product frames on 1:1, 16:9 or 9:16 — the standard set, not a strip.

A 1K banner or story strip
1:8 and 8:1 are on this page, but only at 1K. Design the subject as a strip or the crop will feel empty.

Social portraits
Vertical frames for a profile or a cover, with the subject placed so a caption can live in the corner.

Edits that keep a face or product
Bring up to 14 references so the person or SKU stays put while the rest of the brief changes.

08 — FAQ
Nano Banana 2.1 questions
What is Nano Banana 2.1?
Nano Banana 2.1 is Google’s newer image model for text-to-image and image editing. On ImgToVid it outputs one image per run at 1K, 2K or 4K, and an edit can take up to 14 reference images. Extreme ratios 1:4, 4:1, 1:8 and 8:1 are only available at 1K.
How is it different from Nano Banana 2, Lite and Pro?
Nano Banana 2 covers 0.5K to 4K and extreme ratios at every listed resolution. 2.1 drops the 0.5K tier and locks those extreme ratios to 1K. Lite is 1K only, without extreme ratios. Pro is 1K to 4K on a standard set of ratios — no 1:8.
Can I edit my own image?
Yes. Upload one or more images and describe the change. An edit accepts up to 14 images, so you can hold a person, a product and a style reference in the same request.
Which frames and resolutions can I use?
Resolutions are 1K, 2K and 4K. Standard ratios include auto, 1:1, 3:2, 2:3, 4:3, 3:4, 16:9, 9:16, 5:4, 4:5 and 21:9. 1:4, 4:1, 1:8 and 8:1 work only when resolution is 1K.
Can I use the images commercially?
Commercial use depends on your ImgToVid plan, so check Pricing and our Terms before publishing. Either way, make sure your prompts and uploads don’t infringe on anyone else’s rights.
