BasedLabs AI Video Generator
BasedLabs (basedlabs.ai) is a multi-tool video desk. Official Text-to-Video copy (updated February 2026) says the starter tier renders ten-second, 720p drafts at no cost, then you can upscale to 4K or send the file into the timeline editor. The same site hosts named engines such as Veo 3 / Veo 3 Fast, Kling, Seedance, and Wan. ImgToVid does not run BasedLabs; the generator on this page drafts on Seedance 2.5.
01 — Capabilities
A tool picker, not one 8-second spec
BasedLabs’ own pages sell a model dropdown, a free 10-second draft, and a separate editor. Hosted engines keep their own limits.
01
Prompt, still, or a named hosted model
The T2V page: pick Text to Video, choose a model (examples: Veo 3 Fast or Seedance 1.0), type a scene, generate. The main generator also names Veo 3 for text and Kling 2.1 for image-to-video.
02
Starter drafts: 10 seconds at 720p
That is the published free-sandbox length and picture size. After the look is locked, the same page says you can upscale to 4K or blend stills in Photo-to-Video without regenerating from scratch.
03
An editor that exports MP4 to 1080p
The AI Video Editor FAQ: MP4 in 16:9, 1:1, or 9:16, up to 1080p. You can upload clips or generate new footage in the same desk. That is a project export, not the 10-second draft spec.
04
Sound, then a 3-second GIF trim
T2V marketing says the engine delivers visuals, audio, and motion. After render you can trim a three-second segment into the GIF-loop converter. Kling 1.6 pages on the same site list 720p Standard or 1080p / 30 fps Professional — still as that hosted model, not one BasedLabs one-shot.
02 — Prompt to output
Prompts that match the clips above
Each prompt describes the picture on its card. “Use this prompt” sends that text to Create. The generator on this page runs Seedance 2.5, not BasedLabs.
- 01 · Portrait
PromptClose-up of a young man with curly hair in a grey knit sweater, soft window light. He glances away, then smiles. Slow push-in, shallow depth of field.
- 02 · Product
PromptA white leather sneaker on a pale grey studio backdrop, soft diffused light. The camera orbits slowly. Stitching stays sharp, the look stays minimal.
- 03 · Street
PromptA slow dolly down a cobblestone lane in an old European village. Climbing roses on stone walls, café tables in morning sun, a few people walking in the distance.
- 04 · Character
PromptA young woman with shoulder-length brown hair in an olive t-shirt, late-afternoon gold light. She turns her head and looks off. Breeze in her hair, a handheld feel.
03 — Where it fits
Jobs a multi-tool desk is selling
Public pages point at short hosted clips, a 4K upscale, and a timeline polish. They do not publish one BasedLabs-branded 8-second model.

A 10-second draft you want cheap
The starter T2V tier is the documented free sandbox: ten seconds, 720p. Lock the look, then upscale or edit.

A still the same desk should animate
Photo-to-Video and Kling image-to-video sit on the same site. Do not treat those as the 10-second text draft.

A short cut you want as a GIF loop
Official T2V copy: trim a three-second segment after render. That is a teaser path, not a longer one-shot.

Write the shot here. Seedance 2.5 carries the prompt into Create. Membership and credits are checked there.

- Marked coming soon on this site
05 — Side by side
BasedLabs, Veo 3.1 and Kling 4.0
BasedLabs is a multi-tool desk that also hosts Veo and Kling variants. Veo 3.1 and Kling 4.0 numbers below are from those vendors’ public docs.
06 — How it works
Start a clip on ImgToVid
Step 1
Describe one shot
Subject, action, camera. BasedLabs will not be the model that runs it.
Step 2
Use the generator on this page
It runs Seedance 2.5, because BasedLabs is not offered here. The prompt and the settings carry into Create.
Step 3
Generate in Create
Membership and credits are checked there. Coming back to this page does not switch the model over to BasedLabs.
07 — FAQ
BasedLabs, in plain terms
What is BasedLabs?
BasedLabs is a multi-tool video desk at basedlabs.ai. You pick a hosted engine such as Veo, Kling, Seedance, or Wan, generate a short clip, then upscale or edit. It is not itself one first-party video model. ImgToVid does not host BasedLabs.
How long is a BasedLabs clip?
The official Text-to-Video page says the starter tier renders ten-second, 720p drafts. Hosted engines keep their own one-shot limits. The editor is a separate project export, not that 10-second draft.
Does BasedLabs generate audio?
T2V marketing says the engine delivers visuals, audio, and motion. The editor FAQ lets you upload tracks or record voice-overs. Do not treat that as one native soundtrack table for every hosted model.
What picture size can I export?
Starter T2V drafts are 720p, with a published 4K upscale path. The editor exports MP4 up to 1080p in 16:9, 1:1, or 9:16. Kling 1.6 pages on the same site list 720p or 1080p at 30 fps.
Can I generate BasedLabs videos on ImgToVid?
No. The generator on this page runs Seedance 2.5 so you can draft a shot. BasedLabs is marked coming soon.
Can I use the results commercially?
Commercial use of anything you generate on ImgToVid depends on your plan. Check Pricing and our Terms before you publish, and make sure prompts and uploads do not infringe someone else’s rights.
BasedLabs is not the button on this page
You can still draft the shot. The generator runs Seedance 2.5, and the prompt goes with you into Create.
